Engin Ӧzkan, assistant professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, received a 2016 Sloan Research Fellowship from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The award honors promising early-career scientists for their work. According to the Spring 2016 issue of Medicine on the Midway, Professor Ӧzkan's research focuses on "the molecular principles of development in multicellular organisms, with an emphasis on the nervous system, axon guidance, and synapse formation."
