UChicago Honors PhD and COVID-Era MD Graduates at the 2024 Convocation

PhD students recognized for groundbreaking research, while Pritzker's resilient Class of 2024 reflects on their unique journey with keynote speaker Dr. Anthony Fauci

During the May 2024 convocation ceremonies at the University of Chicago Medicine, 14 PhD graduates were honored with divisional and program awards for their outstanding research and scientific contributions. The awards spanned diverse fields, from ecology and evolution to biochemistry, neurobiology, and public health sciences. Each award recognized the graduates' innovative projects and the impact of their research on advancing scientific knowledge.

In addition to the PhD graduates, the Pritzker School of Medicine celebrated the graduation of its Class of 2024, who began their medical education amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. These students played a crucial role in supporting public health efforts and overcame unprecedented obstacles to complete their degrees.
