Grad students DJ Speed and Christina Roman receive HHMI Gilliam Fellowships

UChicago Biosciences graduate students Christina Roman (Piccirilli lab, Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics) and DJ Speed (Greenberg group, Cell and Molecular Biology) have been selected as 2017 Gilliam Fellows. The GIlliam Fellowship was established by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) and rewards “outstanding students who have the potential to be real leaders in science,” according to David Asai, senior director for science and education at HHMI.
