Peishu Li nominated by Integrative Bio for Best Dissertation in the Biological Sciences Division

Peishu Li, Integrative Biology PhD, was nominated for the Best Dissertation Award in the Biological Sciences Division for his outstanding dissertation, Evolutionary Morphology of the Mammalian Hyoid Apparatus: Form, Function, and Diversity. Co-advised by Dr. Zhe-Xi Luo and Dr. Callum Ross, Peishu’s research investigated the structure and functional evolution of the mammalian hyoid apparatus, a key skeletal component involved in feeding and vocalization. His work provided new insights into the anatomical diversity and evolutionary pathways that have shaped this complex system across mammalian lineages.

Peishu graduated in 2024 and has since joined the faculty at Ohio University as an Assistant Professor, where he continues to pursue research at the intersection of evolutionary biology, functional morphology, and vertebrate paleontology.
