Graduate Programs

Divisional Requirements

Students in a PhD program in the Biological Sciences Division must satisfy the requirements of their graduate program and produce a dissertation on research that is determined to contribute to the body of work in their chosen field.

The Biological Sciences Division also requires students to complete training in their first year on the responsible conduct of research and complete RCR training four years later which is organized by their graduate program.

All students receiving the PhD from the Biological Sciences Division complete two instances of being a teaching assistant in any combination of an undergraduate class offered by the Biological Sciences Collegiate Division, a graduate class offered by a BSD graduate program and/or a medical school class offered by the Pritzker School of Medicine.  This is an educational requirement which includes a separate course registration, an evaluation, and a P/F grade.
